Here’s How It Works

The process begins with your desire to make a change; to take a chance; to bring life to a static wall, perhaps. YOU DREAM IT and I’LL DESIGN IT! Initially, we’ll talk about what you’re looking for and wanting to achieve. The inception of design starts by my exploring your ideas with a complimentary consultation. I adore this creative collaboration process bouncing ideas back and forth. I prefer for this to take place on location, whether it be your home or business, where I can see the entire space that my artwork will be communicating with. I design for the whole, considering all details of the surrounding interior. (When working with children, I love to meet with them as well as to hear, in their words, their inspiration.) Our consultation time provides me the opportunity to consider your interests, tastes, personality and desires, all of which are crucial influences in the resulting design sketches I produce.
Naturally, the next step is my proposal drawing session, where I will create several designs for you to choose from. *This is the stage of the process where I begin to track billable hours. The fee for this design process is relative to the scope and scale of the project and will be determined at end of our initial consultation and included in the final bid.
When we meet again, to view and select the designs, we will discuss budget and scheduling details. As each project is unique and created custom per client, bidding the job has no formula. There are a multitude of factors in determining the cost, including materials, dimensions, and style, as well as the level of detail desired. Prep, execution and travel time are considered along with any special requirements such as the pre-existing condition of the surfaces and tool or equipment rental. Our payment schedule works as follows: a 50% deposit is required upon design agreement and securing a start date; and the remaining 50% balance is due upon completion.
